Hi, Iā€™m Josephine ā€” the lead farmer at the Sow Therapeutic Farm.

In addition, I work as a Health Educator at a Community Health Center. Talking about diabetes, high cholesterol, blood pressure, and general lifestyle changes to support people with their health goals brings me so much joy!

Colette and I met in a year-long farming program called Farm Foundations (2022 Cohort). Our shared vision to increase food security and access to green spaces led to our collaboration and the birth of the Sow Therapeutic Farm.

When I was in high school, I dreamed about having a farm one day and giving away free fresh food to everyone! My vision for the farm is to be able to provide veggies, herbs, and flowers to anyone who would like some. As Sow Therapeutic grows, I want to create a mobile farm stand so we can drive through neighborhoods just like an ice cream truck, giving fresh produce to kids and people who may have difficulty accessing food due to cost, lack of transportation, distance, or any other issues.

While completing my Bachelor's in Public Health, I became more aware of the connectedness of the many different elements of the food system that impact individuals' eating habits and health. With your support, we can create a ripple effect in the U.S. food system, transforming it into a local, community-focused, connective experience for everyone.
